One camera, one lens, one month
#exercises#learning

New gear promises a lot and teaches very little. The exercise that made me grow the most as a photographer was exactly the opposite: a full month with a single camera and a single prime lens. Nothing else.
The rules
- One body, one lens (I used a 35mm).
- Zooming with your feet is mandatory: moving is the whole point.
- At least one photo a day, even when there's "nothing to photograph."
What changed
The first week is uncomfortable: you miss the zoom, you curse the framing. The second week, something clicks — you start seeing in 35mm before you even raise the camera. By the fourth, the lens disappears: it's just you and the scene.
If you feel like your photos have plateaued, don't buy anything. Subtract options instead, and give it a month. It's the cheapest upgrade there is.
